Our Projects

Our project currently takes place in Bospo Village, a small village not far from Battambang. The Bospo Village Primary School provides class rooms for proper school lessons besides their regular school program.

Our current projects:

Teaching English: We currently support 250 children with financial problems. We provide them with English lessons as well as recreational activities. Now our organization is supported by volunteers teaching English to children from Monday – Friday 3:00 pm - 4:00 pm, 4:00 pm - 5:00 pm and 5:00 pm – 6:00 pm. We are constantly looking for more volunteers.

By teaching English we hope to achieve the following:

  • Reduce the poverty of children and youths in Cambodia through education.
  • Give hard working students to opportunity to improve their pronunciation by practicing with our volunteers.
  • Help children to become more confident and develop critical thinking, with the hope that they can eventually take an active role in developing their own communities.
  • Give our students the opportunity to communicate with foreigners.

Primary Healthcare Education: We educate and provide our children on a variety of health related topics.

  • We work in cooperation with the Asocisacion Dentistas Sin Limites (DSL) to provide basic dental care for the locals on a yearly basis.

The following health related projects are planned for the future, but currently we don't have the budget to impliment:

  • To work to prevent the spread of drug abuse in our communities, including conducting drug and alcohol awareness education for youths, who can become peer educators and help reduce the abuse.
  • To work with the locals on issues related to personal hygene, nutrition and pregnancy, in order to improve the overall health of the community.

Vocational skills training - In addition to English education, our organization provides vocational skills training.

  • Computer education - In May 2010 our first own computer lab officially was founded. The start is done with two computers, where basic applications are teached to students. Next to language and socially skills, it is obligatory to be good in. In regular classes up to 20 students can be educated here.

The following vocational projects are planned for the future, but currently we don't have the budget to impliment. We will include more skills when our budget is large enough to meet the needs.

  • Sewing - To provide our locals with sewing skills useful for finding jobs in other cities and countries.
  • Art - To give our locals the opportunity to express their artistic abilities with the goal of eventually finding employment and to promote Cambodian culture.
  • Agriculture - To assist our locals by improving agriculture by implimenting modern methods and technology.

Environmental education - To increase the local awareness of environment by using the following methods:

  • Cleaning our schools and community - To improve our community by having our children clean our schools and surrounding areas on a regular basis.
  • Planting trees - To sponsor a yearly "tree planting day" to educate our students and residents on the importance of protecting the environment.
  • Recycling - To improve the habits of the locals by expressing the importance of recycling, reducing the use of plastic bags and other non biodegradable materials.

Orphan Sponsorship - through additional funding we would like to support the orphans in our community.

Currently residing in our village are several orphans who are in desperate need of assistance. As part of our devotion to our community, we feel it is our duty to provide help to these children. At the moment, these children face several obstacles that put them at a serious disadvantage. Usually, it is impossible for children in this type of dilemma to receive a full and proper education because they have to work/beg for money in order to support themselves (and their caretakers).

The current problems and how we can help:

  • Malnourishment – lack of a nutritious diet makes it difficult for a child to focus in the classroom and have a productive day. We would like to assist these children by ensuring that they consume the nutrients that they need.
  • No clean clothes – dirty/insufficient clothing can affect a child’s self-esteem and prevent him or her from attending school. We would like to provide basic and clean clothing to our children who are in need.
  • School supplies – we would like to provide our poor children and orphans with school supplies and provide the support and materials needed by them to take their studies seriously.

We’ve decided to tackle these problems so that all children in our community, regardless of their financial situation, can have a chance at receiving a full education.
